Build a routine you can keep
Brush regularly with fluoride toothpaste and clean between your teeth each day using a method that suits you. Ask your dental hygienist to demonstrate a technique for your own teeth.
Support little hands
Children need help with oral hygiene as their skills develop. Ask about the right toothpaste amount and age-appropriate brushing advice.
Bring your questions
If a brush or cleaning method feels difficult, say so. Your routine can be adapted around orthodontic appliances, restorations, sensitivity and dexterity. New or persistent symptoms should be discussed with a suitable oral health professional.
General education. Your provider’s assessment guides your own care.
