A friendly beginning

A first hygiene visit is a chance to get familiar with the setting, ask questions and talk about caring for little teeth. We discuss the visit with parents and explain things in language children can understand.

Room for big feelings

  • A conversation about what helps your child feel comfortable.
  • A gentle introduction to the visit and its steps.
  • Age-appropriate home-care education.
  • Discussion of preventive care and dentist assessment.

Building habits together

We help families think about brushing, tooth-friendly routines and follow-up. A dentist should assess infants within six months of the first tooth or by age one, as recommended by the Canadian Dental Association. Hygiene visits support that care and do not replace it.

What if my child is nervous?

Tell us in advance so we can discuss the visit and comfort together.

Can a hygiene visit replace a dentist’s examination?

No. Dental hygiene and a dentist’s examination have different roles.
